Approval tests according to BMW standards (e.g. GS 97045, GS 97038)
Component qualification according to BMW Group standards
We test interior and exterior components and materials in accordance with the valid GS specifications of the BMW Group (incl. MINI and Rolls-Royce). Tests are carried out under accredited conditions and with OEM-compliant documentation
- Corrosion tests (e.g. in accordance with DIN EN ISO 9227 / PV 1209 / PV 1210): Salt spray, moisture storage, corrosion cycle test
- Climate change tests: Alternating stresses with temperature and humidity zones (e.g. in accordance with PV 1200 / PV 2005)
- Chemical resistance: Testing against household products, fuels, cosmetics, etc. and resistance to stress cracking in accordance with PV 3983
- UV resistance: rapid weathering according to PV 3929 (xenon test, Florida simulation) and PV 3930 (xenon test, Kalahari simulation)
Typical test areas:
- Corrosion protection tests: CASS, salt spray, alternating humidity climate
- Climate change tests with temperature cycles, humidity exposure, condensation
- Chemical resistance tests against cleaning agents, cosmetics, beverages
- UV resistance / weathering (e.g. xenon weathering and hot light ageing)
Special tests for visible and operating parts:
- Skin abrasion test, flock abrasion test, scratch test
- Heat and cold storage: simulation of ageing and material fatigue
- Stone chip testing: Determination of chipping behavior in exterior applications
- Fire behavior in the vehicle interior according to GS 97045 (e.g. according to DIN 75200)
Supplementary material analysis:
- Density, hardness, elasticity, fracture behavior
- Microscopy, FTIR, DSC for material identification
